As much as I like the penny, I agree that it probably won't be missed. The argument about who will proffit from the rounding off isn't really relevent due to the fact that most transactions are electronic now, so .01 is still .01, the effects will be minimal.
 
After a few years ,it will all seem natural....

I even ask myself when are they going to get rid of the other coins too..


Make it all notes or plastic.....(Hang on here bob our notes are made of plastic)

It was the wisdom of the Resrerve Bank to introduce plastic notes here as well.

THEY WILL NEVER WEAR OUT or NEED REPLACING....more c r a p

They fade and tear when they get old....

Only positive is when you spill a beer on them they just shake off and are ready to buy another drink with...not passing soggy notes to the barman.
