As for The Jokers, we're talking about one of the oldest names in Bay-Area hot rodding clubs. Meeting up with these guys resulted in the most spontaneous event of the day. My
wife Judy just loved the Jokers tee-shirt and asked how she could get
one for me as a souvenir. After a lot of discussion and strategic planning,
Mike Peters made the most generous offer. Mike literally gave me the
shirt off his back. The catch? Could he have mine in exchange? No problem
(see photo of me in his and he in mine). Now there's a Joker running
around southern Ontario and a "Time Bomb" in Northern Cal (thanks again
Mike). |

Some
natural beauty. Deuces or the setting? |

And
even more natural beauty now that we've got that cleared up. |

At
the end of the event, I asked Dave Allen to oblige me with a picture. |

That's it ladies and gents, boys and girls. What a great day. My only regret was going home without getting to meet Andy. We saw him numerous times but he was busy to-ing and fro-ing and was always in conversation with one person or another or a group. We did meet Roy a few years back at his shop (pre-web) days. He gave us a bottle of his Hot Rod Salsa, with the B&M roadster on the label, to take home as a souvenir - still got it (unopened). Always loved that roadster. |

Andy, thanks for the bash. Footnote: On the journey back to S.F., we went wheel-to-wheel with George on the Golden Gate. George had a big grin on his face. Can't understand why... |
