Tribute by Larry Zilinsky
I’ve known Dan Wilkins and his family (wife Mallory and children Lindsay and Morely)since shortly after they moved to BC from Ontario in about 1997. We both had similar ’32 Ford roadsters (which we were building at the same time). We both had a big appreciation for “traditional” hot rods. Dan was born and raised in Ontario and began his infatuation with everything hot rod there. Dan was also very involved in hockey and lacrosse.
There was a lot to Dan and he was always enthusiastic about whatever he was doing, be it cooking incredible meals (he was one fantastic cook!), enjoying anything hot rod (as long as it was traditional!), playing hockey or lacrosse, or being a father and husband. He was a big part of the hot rod scene here in Victoria.
Dan loved to travel to events, had a good business in contracting, and enjoyed the daily coffees with “the group”. It was unfortunate that Dan had to endure many health problems the last few years of his life – which meant ups and downs. It took a big toll on him both physically and emotionally. Well he’s free of all of that now and we can remember Dan in better times, and there were lots of better times in his life. Rest in peace Pal and know you’ll be missed.
Good on ya Z-Man!!! It’s a true friend that takes time to write a few words to give notice of passing and remember a fellow rodder. I too will miss Dan! JD

Marty and I were sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. We remember the many years and all the fun times we spent in Toronto with our good friends and neighbours, Dan, Mallory, Morley and Lindsay. Our thoughts are with the family.
Mallory, Morley and Lindsay – I was shocked and saddened to hear that Danny passed on.
Something I will always remember about Danny is what a great cook he was – especially those yummy turkey dinners.
My thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time.
