Both of my 1934 Fords have been emission tested–to the 1980 standard !
The newest has a GM ramjet 350 with the closed loop control with one oxygen sensor, and dual performance cat converters in the dual exhaust. The HC readings were 68 against a 600 spec, and the CO readings were1.94% against a 5.0% spec, using the two speed idle test.
My roadster has a 229 cu in GM 90 deg V6, with a GMC 6-53 blower. The engine has NO emission controls ! IT shows HC at 103, NO at 170, and CO at 1.13%. All I did was retard the ignition, lean the jetting, put new spark plugs & aircleaner. The car runs well enough that I left it with these settings. This was done before the 2 speed test came into existence, and the test people had to run the emission tester in manual.
I keep the emission results in the vehicle, in case I ever get stopped !
