Talent & Persistence is Awarded in Detroit

Do you think that those in the Canadian Hot Rod hobby are proud of JF Launier? You bet. And for a few reasons. Not only is he super talented (shout out to his whole team), but he has demonstrated that he can be persistent in the pursuit of attaining the coveted Don Ridler Memorial Award. For over 50 years, the “Ridler” has been awarded to first time shown cars at the Detroit Autorama.

This isn’t Jf’s first time to Detroit. He has attained Great 8 status three time before – not too shabby – but clearly has learned something each time. This year he had it all going on with the ’64 Buick Riviera “Rivision”.

He was competing against some nice cars to be sure but clearly “Rivision” stood out as the most unique build in the field. Not to throw stones at the other cars competing for the Ridler, but JF’s “Rivision” was devoid of cliches and was, as I said, totally unique. Obviously, the required quality was there in spades.

Well done JF!
