How early do you need to book a tour on the Bluenose II?
You don't want to book ahead of time.
You wait to see what kind of a day it's going to be and then go down early and get your boarding pass.
You want it to be a fairly brisk day with the wind.
When the vessel is heaved over, moving at 16 knots and the main boom ( off to port or starboard ), is dragging in the water, that's when it's most exhilarating,
A calm day is pretty boring.
Mind you when they have a full compliment of passengers, they don't usually hoist the Tops'les, but only raise the 4 lower sails, the Main Sail, the Foresail, the Fisherman Staysail and the Jib.
Some trivia for you.
Did you know, the Bluenose II has the largest working main sail in the world.
