This Under Construction article also chronicles the shop visit that the Canadian Rodder Breakfast Table (CRBT) made to the shop of Gary Lynas in November. A small but enthusiastic group of us did breakie and wandered over to Gary's shop. Canadian Rodder Forum members won't be familiar with Gary as he doesn't "do" computers typically. Gary was at our January CRBT and open house outing however. Some of us, who know Gary, have been discussing his '36 Ford slantback project for some time. Gary routinely brings his stock '40 Chevy out to the rod runs. In fact, he drives the wheels off it. It's a very pretty car. Essentially, the '36 project is Gary's first hands-on hot rod project. To say we were blown away by the work Gary has accomplished on his first try would be an understatement. He has developed metalworking skills using basic tools, has executed in top notch fashion and has shown innovation in developing his own rear suspension geometry and parts. In keeping with the Ford theme, Gary has scavenged a plethora of parts from a donor Ford Escort as you'll see in the accompanying photos. With that said, have a look at a '36 Ford Slantback "Under Construction". We'll bring you updates on Gary's progress in the future. |

Gary's got it high in the air so working on it's a breeze (forum readers: that's "sloorider's" back) |

Gary is adding a trunk to the slantback. He fabricated the sill / latch area himself. Beautiful work. You'd swear it was factory. You can see the original metal to the left of the latch. |

New boards were added and a number of patch panels. |
