'34 Ford Coupe

Mike tell us a bit about his '34 Coupe:
"The frame started with a set of Horton '34 Ford rails, a stock front crossmember and my own hand built crossmembers from there back. I'm using an old Super Bell axle that I bought about 15 years ago with Magnum front brakes and a Horton four-bar kit.and reversed eye spring.

The rear end is a Ford 9" with 3.55 gears and a traction lock hung on coilovers with one of Horton's 4-bar kits and a panhard bar. The 355 is a 10:1 motor with a mild Comp cam, early Vette FI heads, a rare Fenton 3 deuce intake with 3 Rochesters from a 348 tripower engine topped off with an even more rare set of "HI POWER" air filters that were made in the ‘50s in New York. Valve covers are early Vette 7 fin aluminum. That's bolted up to a 700 OD trans with all the Grand National and Corvette goodies.

The body is from Antiques and Collectible Autos in Buffalo New York. Wheels are 1953 International pickup rims that are 15 x 5 in front and widened to 15 x 8 in back. They're trick because they look just like early Ford rims, and accept the early Ford hubcaps, but have a 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern. The tires are Michelins up front and 285 15 in. back. I used a tall swan neck Lokar shifter and a narrowed pickup seat. Jim Bailie is narrowing a '49 Ford dash to fit and it will use all it's stock gauges as well as a small Westach tachometer that fits the stock clock opening perfectly. A nice Blaupunkt stereo fills the stock radio opening in the dash."

Thanks Mike. Maybe you should take it on a hot rod tour....
