On
February 3, 4 and 5, Speedorama returned to the Automotive
Building in Toronto on the Canadian National Exhibition
grounds.
Speedorama's earlier press release said that the
building was "rich with a vast historical heritage".
You know what? No argument there. When I stepped into the
building early on the Friday morning, I went hurtling
back in time to other hot rod events that I attended
with brother-in-law going waaaay back.
It's never easy taking quality pictures at inside events
but I walked around equipped with a tripod and think the
overall results are pretty good if I say so myself.
Look for Bill Snow's very cool Volvo 1800, Ed McLeans
smoooth '32 roadster and Nick Minialoff's Great Eight competitor. The
Roadmates were also out in full force in celebration of
their 50th. Look for their "Road Well Travelled" and "Roadmates
Alley". Our very best wishes to them.
Regarding Speedorama in general, you couldn't argue the
major turnaround in content over recent years. There were
lots of hot rods and customs on hand. Very nice change.
