Trip to Truck Heaven
by Terry Friesen

Looking at hood chrome, I noticed these beauties, Mercury “Big Job” spears, these go
with the “good looking, smart, blonde”, we all know they are out there but have never seen
them, well I saw them, and bought the whole truck to get them. It took six years to find
Ford “Big Job“ spears for my 1951 F1, now my Mercury will have them too.

What could I put these on?

Ever wonder what you can do with old headers, here is the answer –
turn them around and you have rat rod scavenger pipes – you saw it here first!
Want to make a grown man cry, show him a cut up Mercury tailgate. No, show him three (below) and then tell him there were more. After a while my tears were freezing!
To make you feel better, there were goods ones still there.
We made our way to the next two fields and found a line of GMC’s and a Diamond T. Jim, a long time advocate for the Spotted Owl, felt sorry for the bird that lived in the headlight, so he bought the whole truck and brought it to British Columbia. More photo’s to follow on this build.
