Speedorama 2002
Exhibition Place
Toronto, Ontario

Last year at this time we said of Speedorama 2001: "OK, so maybe there weren't enough rods and customs for our tastes but there were still a lot of very nice cars from all aspects of the hobby."

I wish we could say the same again this year. This year we have to say, there were hardly any rods and customs but there were still a lot of very nice cars from a few aspects of the hobby. Picky, picky, picky, right? Maybe so but I'm calling it like I see it.

Jil McIntosh, in the current edition of the CSRA magazine, noted that "it never hurts to cast a quick glance at the newcomers, even if you don't necessarily care for the type of cars they're building. A lot of them have some very good ideas and they're amazing craftsmen." I agree Jil. Well put. However, given that this site is devoted to the hot rod and custom scene, the pickings were slim. It makes me wonder about next year. We'll see.

Having said that, we did come away with some pictures of a few very nice cars. We offer them below.
