Monday July 26 / Wrapping Up

On Monday morning it was time for us to head back to the mainland. We decided that, for a change of scenery, we'd head north to Nanaimo for the ferry back. What a nice surprise to see a couple of rods in the rear view mirror of our rental as we motored north on Hwy 1. Even at a distance, they were easily recognizable as Vic Edelbrock and his wife Nancy in the highboy roadster and Roy and his wife Jean Marie in the Rod & Custom 50th Anniversary roadster.

I slowed to let then pass so that I could get some pics. Needless to say, I shouldn't have been driving and shooting pictures but I couldn't miss the opportunity. We stuck with them all the way to Nanaimo. It would have been more fun if we had been in a rod also but……..

Thus ends our coverage of Northwest Deuce Day 2004. Someone remarked recently that it would be hard to top. I would agree with that.

As noted at the beginning of this feature, the weather was spectacular, the cars awesome, the venue was about as good as it gets and the people made it memorable. Without people, there would be no hobby. We had a great opportunity to hang with good friends and meet new.

We wanted to get out for Deuce Day 2002 but couldn't swing it. We planned well in advance for this event and were not disappointed. All things considered, it was fabulous. On behalf of Canadian Rodder, we'd like to extend our congratulations and thanks to Al Clark and his team for the time and effort that went into this event. Until next time.
