1936 Ford /
1932 Ford - Owned by Arlene Baillie de Grauuw
Toronto,
Ontario, Canada
Actually cars of the week this time. Reitred from school teaching but
not from street rodding, Arlene has an amazing history and we're proud to
showcase her here. Would you believe:
- street rodder since 1969
- life member of CSRA (#23) / NSRA (#127)
- past president (first woman) of CSRA (1989)
- elected to the Canadian Street Rod Hall of Fame in 1994
The list goes on.
Arlene has owned "Baby
Blue" since 1972, purchased at the Thornhill Farmers' Market (coincidentally).
Once a Stock Car, in it's current configuration, it sports a 307 Olds and
Mustang II front end. "Champagne" came on the scene in 1979, sat
for 14 years and hit the streets in 1995.It's powered by a 351 Ford.
Watch for Arlene and Marty at the various events and cruises. Ask her to let
you take a look at her memoirs binder. There's lots more about this interesting
and dedicated lady.
