In July 1998, Mike titled his Toronto Sun The Way We Were column "Crazy about my automobile". Here's the story: Mike saw a 1955 turquoise and white Pontiac cruise by just hours before he got married some 30 years (hope that's correct Mike). Mike says he "coveted" the car since high school. Covet - that's heavy into the I-lust-for department. In June of 1998, while entertaining friends, his wife Yarmita called him outside for a bogus reason and sitting in the driveway was this beautiful '55 Laurentian. What a lady! (talk about an understatement). She had enlisted Dean Renwick to help in the search - a search that took some four years. Crazy for his automobile? I guess so. Neat story and neat car.
